got done blacking out all my emblems with vinyl my tail lights with vinyl and front corners with vht night shades. window tint is on its way in the mail and plasti dip for the wheels will be soon after. washed it, took some pics to show to the sonic forums hope you all enjoy

Hey can I ask how you went about doing the vinyl on your tails and reason why you put nite shades on the front corners, instead of putting vinyl on too. I want to do the same thing with my tails. Also did you remove the headlight to do the corners. I've seen most who do and wet sand before applying and add clear afterwards.

I believe he probably used Night Shades on front lights because of the contour of the plastic. It would take some serious manipulating of vinyl (or whatever film) to get it to bend and adhere to those contours. The rear lights of the hatch have a much flatter surface and it's probably much easier to get vinyl to adhere. I'd like to be able to use film on the rear lights of my sedan, but it's a bit contoured as well and might pose too much of a challenge, even with using a heat gun. I just don't want to use night shades and then decide that I don't like it, or it's too dark, or I just screwed up in general.

I would think that the vinyl would be darker, the vinyl wrap i bought off amazon didnt seem too too stiff so it might be possible to use vinyl, but I wouldn't recommend it on head lights but tail lights I would. But heres the question...
Is it hard for light to get through the vinyl?

I just blacked out my chrome door handles with that today and it looks great. I also ordered another sheet to do the chrome strips near the bottom of the windows. I plasti dipped my bow ties last weekend (complete coverage), but I'm thinking about removing that and just doing the interior of the bow tie with the vinyl. I'm not sure how I feel at the point about the the rough, matte look of the plasti dip.

dipyourcar.com has the plasti dip and there is a top coating so it wont look matte.

Yes, I've been thinking about ordering the Glossifier, but I've read some mixed reviews on the product. One member on this forum made it sound like it didn't create a glossy surface at all. On the youtube video with Fonzie, it's hard to see the glossy effect it creates. I guess I'll just have to order some and test it out myself.
