OK I have a 2012 Sonic LT 4dr sedan 1.4 turbo automatic. I drive it in my courier job. Formerly delivering RX to nursing homes and now delivering auto repair parts to repair shops. I just turned 230,000 miles last week. She is bone stock. :banana:

Yes! I love to see this! Especially for a 2012, seems like they the are most prone to issues

Had 115k on my 2012 before it was totaled. Have 10k on my 2015 now.

154,560 miles

Transmission just went South on me - looking at $3500 to repair. Been complaining about it's "erratic" behavior since day one. Lodged complaint to GM... waiting to see what they might do to ease the pain.
Oh, had t replace radiator for a leak a couple months back. Beware - $800 for that one, too.

Modern radiators suck..all plastic. I surmise well all get good at taking the front bumper off to get at things like the radiator.

My wife's Toyota matrix has about 10 inches on each side of the radiator. .I surmise it can be swapped out in your pjamas in 15 minutes..

Any update on some of the higher mileage 1.4T with the manual 6spd needing a second transmission replacement?

When have people typically seen the turbo needing replaced? Mine threw the code last winter, but it went away before I could get it into the dealer. I haven't seen it since.

I'm hoping for a replacement on both of those before I hit the 100K mile mark, which should be happening in less than a year...

I will be going on my third transmission. Same issue as the last one, wining noise caused by the differential bearing failure. Thank God I'm still 9000 miles from my warranty expiration.

I just recently purchased my sonic. However, when I was looking for a sonic a little over a month ago, the dealership I bought mine at had a 2012 1.8 5 speed with almost 160k. I looked at it because they were only asking like $7000 for it, and I thought it was a great deal until I saw the mileage! It did make me confident that my sonic purchase would last a while (hopefully!) I've only got 22,000 miles on mine right now!

That's a good price for a 4 year old used car with 160k miles? I paid $ 10,900 plus tax for my 2013 Sonic sedan LT, 1.8, 5 speed manual, brand new in 2014 with 26 miles on the odometer (including $ 2500 GM card rebate all of which I could apply because it is an old GM card which I got in early 90's).

2015 sonic sedan ltz turbo 23000 miles, 4 trips to shop for ac issue, 1 radio issue... Longevity, not so much.. Only owned it for 5000 miles lol

My Sonic is 4 years old today. It's been sitting in my garage most of the time for 6 weeks. I've put 7k on my company car for this time so my mileage has barely moved! Took this shot last Sunday when I left home.

Did you do the red interior trim yourself or is that stock? It looks great!
