I've had my sonic for over two years now. 10 months without the tune and the rest with it. I don't have much in the way of sporty cars to compare it to, but it truly is night and day comparison. Friends and coworkers are still stunned how the car can accelerate when they are with me. Definately big bang for the buck.
How good is a tuned Sonic... Really?

I found a 2012 with 18k mile for $12k. Black LT sedan with the red inserts inside. Going to go take a look.

You really won't regret it. The tune alone really wakes up anything that's hidden on this car. If anything, the tuned sonic is how the 1.4T should have came out of the factory from the start.
Well it depends on your service department and how careful you are. I just got my transmission replaced under warranty and all I did was tune it back to stock a few weeks before I took it in. They didn't say a thing. Trifecta has something called transparency mode that supposedly makes it much more difficult to detect a tune on the computer. But remember, if they take it for a test drive and it's tuned, they will most likely be able to tell the difference.

A early 90s v8 Chevy truck tried to race me last night. I smoked him. By second gear I was out almost a full car length, and his motor sounded pretty nice.
This morning I tried a very modified older wrx. He was faster than me but I was able to not fall to far behind.
If I die, bury me in my truck, because it's never been in a hole it can't get out of!

I guess therein lies the problem with a lot folks with the tune... If the car is running like crap and I have to bring it in..it seems I should flash back to stock? I cannot see my service department having any
patience or fortitude to deal with anything but a stock tuned 1.4. They simple dont have the time and need things as dumb simple as possible.
Scenario; ..car wont start..nothing.. I dont have time to flash it or figure it out..I have it towed. Checking it , they say it could be the fuel pump but their not sure as the tune is non-stock..
Would love to hear from folks with 100K on their tuned sonic.

Yeah I only have 10k tuned but over 40 on the car.
I think it's less of the dealer dealing with it and more of they might void warranty on certain parts that could be effected. It will be easier now for trifecta customers as I heard they are gonna have a programmer. For those of us who use companies that already have hand held programmers it's not nearly as bad.

Depends on if you ever plan to do more later on. I at the least would do advantage plus. Most people that have done less than full or elite have upgraded or at the least regretted it later on.

I plan on getting a tune on black Friday and getting a MPFab intake around Christmas. I read somewhere that someone said they data logged after putting on an air intake and Trifecta gave him the same tune. I think I'll get the Advantage Plus and put it on after I get the air intake.
And I have to use Windows, correct? I only have laptops with Linux and a MacBook.
