how to turn off console screen?

HI, I'm new to this forum ... and here's my noob question - OK, my first noob question

I bought my 2015 Sonic LTZ (turbo) hatchback second hand, about 9 months ago, and am very happy with it - it's fun to drive.

I'm planning on towing my Sonic behind my motor home (owners manual says it can be flat towed).

When being towed, it has to have the DLSI fuse removed (#1, top left of the fuse box under the dash), be in neutral and the key turned to the ACC position.

My question is, how can I completely turn off the console screen? When I turn it "Off", it displays the time (see pic). Since the engine will not be running, I want to turn this off to avoid draining the battery.

Is there a way to do this? Perhaps pull another fuse?

Hmm ... I just now noticed that under these circumstances, the screen DOES go dark when I open the door. I guess that means that the screen would have gone dark (without opening the door) if I had waited ... like 10 minutes. Will the screen stay off?

Is there a way to darken the screen when driving (the light can be too bright at night)?

No way I know of.
Why does the car need to be in ACC? Are you using its brake lights? Otherwise wouldn't neutral work just fine?

I have never tried towing my car.

But have you tried pulling the DLSI fuse first and then turning the ignition to the ACC position? The manual for my 2014 says that pulling the DLIS fuse will prevent the battery from being discharged. I would find it odd that GM would specify pulling that fuse and then it would leave the screen on, thereby discharging the battery.

I believe that the reason for the ignition switch being in the ACC position is on the automatic transmission the ignition switch needs to be in the "ON" position to shift out of park and into neutral, and when it is in neutral the switch will only turn back to the ACC position not all the way to the "OFF" position.

As far as dimming the MyLink screen while driving mine is controlled by the instrument panel illumination lever to the left of the steering column, next to the headlight knob. It adjusts up and down with the Speedo and Tach light level.
