UPDATE...... well i havent checked back here in awhile since i did this install, a few things to note to answer your questions.....
----Stock tweeters are still in, i didnt want to remove them or even attempt to remove that panel due to the airbag, they are still connected to head unit but not my amp, the volume of my amp for the door speakers are much louder then the stock unit volume so although the stock tweeters are in, i dont hear them at all
----Heat..My amps have not overheated at all for the entire summer season, the hole to which you stick your hand in to remove the cover actualy serves as a great vent, next summer if the amps overheat i will install a fan on the inside of that hand hole.
----Power consumption... i will be purchasing a capasitor this summer, although the stock alternator powered these two amps with no problems im still gona buy a cap, there was no headlight dimming whatsoever when played at full volume
---to remove carpet just remove the plastic floor panels along the door, its only 2 clips holding it down, i am runninng both speaker and power wires together, no noise whatsoever
---overall, this stereo sounds unbeleivable, im very happy with the install and very clean crisp sound.... someone commented i should face subs toward rear bumper istead of firing straight up, well after a few months i decided to change it to see if it made a difference, well this person was correct, facing subs toward rear bumper in a chevy sonic will get you optimum sound
