I hate it when they run a red light...

I was driving from Acworth Georgia to my home in Kennesaw on N. Cobb Pkwy. 2 nights ago. I was in the right hand lane, a guy next to me in a small pickup were crossing the intersection side by side when I heard and felt a tremendous "explosion". We were going about 45 mph. A lady in a small SUV ran the red light and T-boned the guy next to me, knocking me into the right turning lane. I kept control by not hitting the brakes and just riding it out. The entire right side of my car is "toast". My insurance adjuster is supposed to look at it sometime today. I'll post pictures later. It's pretty ugly. My airbags did not deploy and no one was hurt, thank goodness. It could have been much, much worse. I have to remind myself it's just stuff but I'm still "heartsick". My car performed beautifully and I think it can be returned to "like new" condition. I'll update this as my car is repaired. Anybody know of a great body shop in the Kennesaw/Marietta/Atlanta area? Be safe out there and be aware!

since everyone is okay; thank god your airbags didn't deploy. those are not cheap to replace. without them deploying, it is likely your car will be repaired. pending pictures, of course.

Bummer! I'm surprised the guy in the pickup wasn't injured. On a side note "HeartScrub" sounds like you work at a hospital (heart surgery?). I could be way off.

I understand there is a recall for certain Sonics regarding the driver side airbag. My airbag did not deploy. I wonder if my Sonic was included in the recall. I received no notification.

I didn't even ask her. I was pretty rattled. I expressed sorrow that it happened and she said something like, "yeah, it happens"...

You can ask the GM rep here on the forum to check if your VIN was involved in the recall.

Does that Cruze have a driver side visor with the slide out piece?
If so can you get the dimensions of the visor? I want to know if it physically matches the visor of the Sonic for a possible swap. I miss the slide out functionality.opcorn:

heartscrub, thank goodness no one was injured, sorry to hear that. Yes, I can definitely research this further for you and check your VIN for any open recalls.
