I've seen this video. Have you performed this yourself? When I tried it, it sounded like the plastic was cracking. So I stopped, since I'm not sure how it's put together and didn't want to force/break it. If you notice he never puts that piece back on after the repair, I'm pretty sure he just broke it off in this video.
