I have a 2017 Chevy sonic roughly 83k miles. It’s been in the shop 4 times in the last 4 months. It’s had cam sensors changed twice and today I picked it up after having the timing belt, cam sockets and spark plugs changed. The car drove fine for about 15 miles. Then I pulled into my garage the check engine light popped back on, started idling rough and died. I am at the end of the rope. Has anyone else had these issues. 3 of the shop trips were to the Chevy dealership. The last shop is a credible well known shop in my area.

I haven't had this issue with mine. If the check engine light is on you should try reading the code for starters.

I would get the code read at autozone or something like that so you know what the actual code is. If its an evap code then it could be the recirculatory valve in the valve cover which can cause rough idle and stalls. It is a common problem with the 1.4l engines but is a very simple fix. As suggested tho you should get the engine code read so that you can know what the car is actually complaining about.
I had these issues on my 2012 Sonic LT 1.8. The real problem was the air intake hose from the air cleaner to the throttle body was cracked in two places. I got the part on Amazon for $16 and replaced it myself. I did replace the mass airflow sensor ( if you unplug it and the car does not stall then it needs replaced) and the evaporator. I purchased both on Amazon and they were easy to replace myself.
