That's a pretty ignorant statement. Especially since you are a "supposed" MODERATOR. So if SONIC says it as a MODERATOR, does that mean that SONICOWNERSFORUM.COM has the same limp opinion?

All nice and good. However, I stand by my statement that somebody saying that ALL INJEN PARTS are CRAP is just ignorant. Would that mean that any company selling Injen parts is also crappy? TTR and BNR must really suck too then huh?
Now if you would like to retract your statement and say that the Injen 1.4T RamAir Intake does not increase performance much according to others members reports, I would consider that useful (unless you had actually used one).

The argument with the Injen intake is that they marketed it as a performance enhancer, and both physics theory and dyno testing both indicate that it is not (there's a very small band of rpm in which it is a slight enhancement, but in general it reduces, not increases, hp output).
If they marketed it as a warm air intake, suggesting that you sacrifice a couple hp in order to gain a couple mpg, they could more or less back that up, and they would have a brilliant product, nobody would complain. Dunno how sales would be, but no complaints.
It's saying it is something that it really isn't that gets them a negative rep. Then when they come up with another product, you get people saying it too must be trash, because that's their rep.
Rep matters a lot nowadays.
That said, I've never heard of an Injen exhaust, haven't seen any dyno charts, no idea what it's like or whether it's trash or not. If they can show me it's really great, well OK then. I'm not inclined to give them the benefit of the doubt, that's all.

The common theme of all those reviews is "they like the noise it makes" and it "feels" like it's faster. Until the ECU learns down after a week or so that is. So you have a GREAT noise maker that might give you a temporary feeling of additional power. I didn't see a single mention of a dyno pull. What an AWESOME bunch of reviews! That totally proves that Injen makes quality parts!

Autoanything is also only limited to the Injen (catalogued in the wrong section....cold air intake) and K&N limiting your choices for the heards of common people that just look to Autoanything for all the auto needs. Dave at DDM however has a dyno chart of the SAB, Injen and DDM intake clearly showing the Injen a 2 hp gain for 200 rpm over the SAB and beat out by the SAB at all other rpm's and quite a bit at the top and bottom of the rev range. I would pass on the Injen intake with that proof alone.

Yep, and according to MPFabs testing, removing the snorkel from the SAB resulted in a gain thru out the rpm band, making 3 more hp in most places. Which would make the SAB better than the Injen intake in every regard except noise.
Of course that's before the ECM kicks in and brings power output back to factory.
As for the reviews, I've seen the same stuff about those "chips" that you wire into the coolant temp sensor. It is a fact that at best they are worth a few hp under some conditions because they lie to the ECM and under report coolant temp in an attempt to richen the AFR. Yet people will report that their butt dyno is saying they're making 20 more hp, one tard actually claimed it was true because the company told him that's what he would make with the mod and as evidence he beat the same car as his that had the much higher output factory engine.
The thing with those reviews is there's never real proof and by and large the ppl that review it are susceptible to placebo effects and know nothing about cars or physics. It's not like you can even feel 5, 10hp on a ton and a half car. I never noticed much difference with my ZZP intake OR open exhaust and I have proof of their gains.
And for what It's worth Injen appears to make a decent CAI intake for the Cruze, one of the best intakes and a true cold air design.
Anyway where's the link to this Injen exhaust?

My opinion would be to compare it to the other available exhaust systems. Compare price, material, pipe diameter, etc... If it is a better deal, and serves the purpose go for it. I understand the down side and poor design of the injen intake for our sonics, but to say everything injen is junk is a bit narrow minded. Think of it like this... ZZP in my opinion has the best overall exhaust, and DDM in my opinion has the best overall intake. So does that mean that I should assume that the ZZP intake, and DDM exhaust are junk, and that the rest of the products they make are junk? I would say that with every part you need to compare them based on what you want from it, and the overall part itself.

You're being reasonable... but you aren't seeing the actual complaint. It isn't that the Injen intake is junk... in fact in some ways it's the best intake out there. Rather it's that Injen is making claims that are contrary to both logic and fact About their intake. It doesn't increase hp, physics suggests it won't and testing proves that (except in a very narrow part of the rpm band) it doesn't.
This means they are either ignorant or liars, or both.
This then means that any claims they make about their other products must also be viewed with distrust.
It would be great to compare products and see which exhaust does the best job... but since they aren't offering to send us the exhaust free, it takes a bit of a leap of faith to send them money for one. Since they are demonstrated to be either idiots or liars, having faith in their claims for another product is... difficult.
If DDM or ZZP comes out with a radiator grill blocker, I might well be convinced to try it, because they have made good products in the past, and their claims about their products have been substantiated. If Injen makes one... I'm less inclined. But since they would be the only ones, I might still try it.
Exhaust systems, though, are being made by several trustworthy vendors. Why take a chance on Injen?

For sure, I agree that DDM and ZZP are the better choice for most parts for our sonics.
I doubt injen will be able to compete with ZZP anyway, as far as exhaust goes. I will say that many claims are made, by many different companies. Perhaps who ever maid the claims at injen, might be a bit miss informed, or when they completed the intake setup they didn't know about the other intakes available. Perhaps somone at injen should think before they speak
Hopefully if somone buys the exhaust, they will post some photos and specs.

So this has been entertaining to play with...LOL. I just have one question. Can somebody provide a link to the Injen site which shows them actually providing or advertising an intake for a Sonic 1.4T? Now the 1.4T Cruze looks nice.....

It hasbeen a long time since I looked at the Injen site and noticed their own dyno chart. Since that time posts in this forum indicate the chart remained but the wording touting its benefits changed. If you can not find the Injen Sonic intake on their site, that tells me truth in advertising may have won the day, and customers seeking a performance enhancing intake moved on and there are n ot enough of the rest to keep the item in stock
