Installing a temperature sensor into a block posibble? any Locations to install or self tap into the head or block?

I need to install a temp sensor and wondering if there are good locations on the engine to tap into or possible areas that have already been threaded where I can install it.

Ive come to understand that some companies make an adapter that attaches to the end of the radiator hose, no cutting or drilling.
