Is this spam?

I am a new member and am very confused as to what constitute spam. I have made two posts so far regarding mods and documentation for my Sonic. In the first I described a backup sensor installation. I purposely left out the brand and source of the sensor for fear of being labeled as spam. A member then asked for these details, which I provided in a response. Is this spam?

In my second post I revealed the source of a service manual I purchased for my Sonic. There had been a number of posts regarding finding service manuals and I added mine as a response to a post that had been reported. Is this spam?

As a new member I want to conform to the rules of the forum. There are many posts that have brand names and sources of products that are not flagged as spam. What should I do?

They are not reporting your thread/posts as spam but the spam that has been posted in your thread (which is a huge problem on here). If you where posting spam your account would have been deleted already. You're seeing the left over indicator by members reporting spam after a mod has already deleted it.

To bad it wasn't easy to delete the "Reported" posting after the spam was deleted. I've looked at many threads that interest me and find the only update is "Reported".

There's a spam problem on this site that is continually being addressed, but the spam policy is pretty relaxed. If you're posting useful links, nobody's likely to bother you. I've even posted relevant links to my own website and no one's messed with me.

Out of respect for supporting vendors, I don't usually post links to other vendors but instead will describe how to find them (GMPartsDirect comes to mind). I'm not sure if that's actually a rule or just something we tend to do, but it seems most folks follow it. I'm fairly sure online tools like owner's manuals and things like my gear ratio calculator are acceptable.
