Just bought a 2015 LT Turbo Hatch

So far so good, very smooth, quiet ride, everything works great, but what's up with the giant ruby red tach needle?
And where's the stop on the sunroof to let you know when it's shut tight?
Otherwise it drives great so far, but I've only got 300 miles on it.
Also, the sales guy told me I needed to let it idle for 30 seconds after driving it to cool down the turbo. Was he just jerking my chain?

When closing the sunroof it stops automatically when fully closed, you can't shut it too tight. If you try to close it more when fully closed it will tilt up, if you keep trying after that nothing will happen. Sort of like trying to start the car when it's already running, the car will not issue an engine start command if it see's it's already running, so you can't grind the starter even if you wanted to.

Regarding idling the engine to cool the turbo, as long as you aren't shutting the engine off at the end of a quarter mile drag race you are fine. Presumably by the time you are pulling into a parking spot you've already been driving for a bit at parking lot speeds, and with the turbo being water cooled you don't really need to do any special shutdown procedure.

Thanks for the reply. That's how I thought the sunroof would work, but instead the switch toggles from slid all the way open to tipped open at the other end, and somewhere in between it is shut and sealed, but there's no stop to tell you when it's shut, and you can't see it from the inside. So we have to tap the toggle until we think it's right, then get out and look from the top to see if it's shut tight. Maybe ours is defective that way.

Another tip on the sunroof is if it's closed and you quickly tap it open and immediately let off it will automatically slide open all the way like you mentioned, a feature that I didn't realize until after about a year of ownership. If you only want it opened halfway then just hold the switch as you're opening it then let off when it's open where you want it.

Edit: So you are saying that if your sunroof is fully open and you press the switch to close it, it won't stop in the closed position - it will go from fully open to closed to tilted without stopping when it's closed? Yeah that doesn't sound right, mine will stop when fully closed and then to tilt it you have to release the switch and press it again to tilt it.

It's probably just about learning the right touch. When it's open and I tap to close but don't hold the button down maybe it will shut tight. I'll try that. I've probably been holding the button down.

That's really nice are those the 16" wheels? I received the build sheet on mine and happily found out mine has the 16s and not 15s (unexpected)

Indeed those are 16" wheels. It feels very solid on the road on curves and bumps.

16" wheels seems to be stock on Sonics, so that's what I got.
