Key stuck? Try this.

My automatic 2013 LT would not release my key. The problem was the button on the shifter was stuck depressed. If I fooled with it then it would un stick and I could remove the key. But then it would stick again. I sprayed silicone lubricant alongside / behind the button which fixed it.

Good preventative measure! I read of this issue on another thread; but solution was replacement of the handle, and was surprised it affects the key! Never would have guessed it.

I popped off the shifter cover and squirted carb cleaner down into the shaft - washing out all the sticky stuff & dirt ------ then sprayed copious amounts of silly-cone --
