I literally paid I think $8 for 8 bulbs and shipping, they are just the cheap sylvania silverstar zXe knockoffs, I just like them because they are a bit whiter than the regular bulb but not HID bright, I honestly figured they would last a month or so before going out (which is why I bought two full sets) but so far I am at 8 months and none are out yet

Do you have a link to where you got them? I would certainly pick them up and give them a try if they are that cheap. Worst that happens is the bulbs blow quickly and I am out $8.

They were these ones: 2X H11 Super Bright White Fog Halogen Bulb 55W Car Head Light Lamp 12V | eBay
they're from China so they took like 15 days to get to the US, but I had the exact same mentality you do, I figured worst case scenario they don't last long and I only spent a few bucks, I actually ordered 2 full sets for the car and a set for both of my motorcycles too, grand total was under $20 for 12 bulbs back this summer, they did go up about a dollar since then however
