low boost/power issues??? anyone?

Do you recall how the wastegate rod is attached to the leveler that moves the wastegate its self? Bolt, rivet, etc?opcorn:
Just went out and took a peak.
Going in reverse from the flapper door in the turbo outlet back to the waste gate diaphragm is the following.
-The flapper door is 1 piece with the shaft that passes thru the turbine housing.
-A flat steel lever is then placed on the shaft and welded solid.
-A rod is attached to the end of the lever and held on with an E-clip On the opposite side of this rod are internal threads.
-From there is the wastegate diaphragm rod that screws into the previous rod and the two are locked together with a jam nut. (This is the part that is referred to when talking about the "wastegate mod").
-Finally is the wastegate diaphragm.

I know this is an older thread but did anyone with the no/low boost issues get a resolution with never logging a code? I've had issues since I bought my car new in July 2012. I have almost 50k on it and have sporadic boost issues. It logged a code when it was nearly new. I called the dealer and set up an appointment. The CEL extinguished itself and the dealer chalked it up to a bad tank of fuel. The last few weeks it's been getting progressively worse but I don't want to take it to the dealer until I get a code. I went through the song and dance with them 3x with a squeaking/rubbery (is that a word) sound when I turned the steering wheel so I can only imagine the issues I'll have trying to get the boost issue resolved if it's intermittent.
Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

My CEL finally illuminated. It was an under boost, P0299. It was dropped off to the dealer yesterday at 11:00. I received at call a couple hours later that they found a "problem" with the turbo and it will be replaced under my power train warranty. I'll ask specifics when I pick it up and post it here.

I've seen a couple cruze 1.4t's come in the shop with underboost codes and slack in the wastegate linkage but so far everything has been under powertrain warranty so I send them off to the dealership.
Thanks Italianjoe1. That's exactly what it was. The Dealer replaced the turbo assembly under the extended power train warranty. I'm out of town so my wife picked up the car. She said it was fine until she merged onto I-75 (about a mile from the dealer) during rush hour... Dash lights, noise and an after service hours, rollback trip back to dealer. I asked her to check the oil and coolant. Oil was fine, coolant - not so much. It was dry. The saga continues...

I've got the 299 popping up too. I'm at 38k. I've checked the linkage and nut as seen on some other forums and its got a tacky little gum like antibackoff thing on it and it seems tight and happy. I've also seen people complain elsewhere about the plug boots. Before I play around with trying to pull my bnr atmospheric valve back off (not a fan of that project) and put her back to stock for that diaphragm check has anyone on this forum had the plug boot issue fix the problem? Others claim , you stomp on it, get to about 3k, it'll cough, throw the code , then go about its business and that's exactly hows shes acting to me.

New plugs in, gapped up to .028, problem still exsists with a p0299. Coils were fine and so were the wires. I'm going to remove tune and atmospheric blowoff valve because i found mine to have a weak wastegate diagphram under vacuum. I'm going to attempt to see if its covered under powertrain warranty as some others on here have had that go good for them.
