Manual Boost Controller

So im pretty well versed with turbo cars but i just had some simple questions that maybe someone on here is smarter than I about. Im aware that the Sonic's ECM dumb's down any mod that's installed without a tune, but what if someone were to say remove the factory Boost control Solenoid and replace it with a Manual boost controller? Would the car still try and dumb down the additional boost (monitored with a boost gauge of course) by retarding the timing and making the motor act all stupid or would it just kind of take it like a champ and allow it. So with that being said my second question is this, i just had my 2012 Sonic LT Turbo with a 6spd in the shop for a few minor things and asked the tech if he could take a look at my TPS sensor, my laptop was showing a maximum of 88.3% throttle when the pedal is clearly being pushed into the carpet as hard as possible without breaking it. When i picked the car up i was told that those values were within spec and that the car is normal. Any thoughts on this?

It's not a throttle pedal anymore; it's a "can I please have this much torque" pedal.

Boost controller; if you're tuned, I'm sure it could be tuned in. If not, it'll probably run like ****.

Personally I would not run a manual boost controller on a car with sophisticated computer controls. I'm not sure but I imagine it wouldn't take long before the ecm put the car in limp home mode. Not sure what would happen since it would normally kill boost which is now in your control but I would expect retarded ignition timing and an extreamly rich fueling countermeasure and mayb the cam phasing would be changed and the throttle to lock into a factory set position that is closed or close to it.

This is a lot of speculation on my part but I'm positive the computer would do its best to kill power to save itself since it will assume its lost its ability to control boost.

A better solution would be the Trifecta Tune, which I'm sure many people will recommend. And there is plenty of info about it in the Bad News Racing sub forum

Not sure on the TPS, that could simply be its maximum opening, I will check it on my ultragauge later tonite but I do know it has a commanded, absolute, and relative % of throttle opening and my commanded and absolute are seldom the same, can't recall the maximum off hand thou.

I think with the premium tune from BNR and allot of data logging it should be possible. I would hit the BNR forums and ask what Jerry thinks.
