manual mode in 1.8 auto

I have read a few other threads on the topic but just to clarify am I correct in assuming that using manual mode is more fuel efficient especially around town and that putting it in drive and using cruise is more efficient on the highway.

Manual mode is more efficient if you're trying to be efficient.

Yup manual mode would be most efficient in either situation it is just not needed on the highway as you will spend most time in 6th
