Mazda MX-5 Miata

We have our Sonic LTZ Long Term Tester in the garage, but in the meantime got to drive the MX-5.

Not gonna lie, expected a lot more out of this thing. I feel like a slightly modded RS would easily run with this guy.

Thoughts on the MX-5 and our story? Thanks!

Stock a mx5 is a ok roadster.

But it was never intended to be left stock.

A built mx5 is a dangerous weapon on the track.

The (unmodified) Miata was never intended to be a road rocket. There are plenty of two seat roadsters that will out gun a Miata. I owned a 2006 six speed rag top and found it a pure joy to drive and enough power to get me into or out of trouble. We liked the fact you could drop the top in less than 2 seconds and it didn't take much longer to put it back up. I would still own it if I had a garage to keep it in. The only drawback I had with it was all the pine pollen, pine needles, etc would find a way to clog up the drains and the water would back up into the car.
