So I went ahead and bought the RS. I'm actually sitting in it now as I write this.
I got it in the black metallic. I love it. I love the trim, gearbox, steering. Everything feels awesome. The close ratio gearbox encourages skipping gears (engine has good torque as well...which helps in this department). My friend is trying to tell me that it's bad for the transmission to skip gears. Pssssh.
There is a little bit of a body roll issue (I'm used to driving a 2009 VW gti so I'm a little snobby in this department) It was much worse on the LT model though. Nothing some suspension work can't fix. I drove the LT before the RS and the suspension difference is KEY in the handling. They are very different and it is noticeable. Body roll remains present in the RS yet, again, better than the LT.
The car sounds awesome! I was not expecting such a Subaru-like growl. It definitely has its own unique sound and I'm liking it. Louder than I expected too. Not a bad thing.
I find myself starting from a stop in second gear out of laziness. 1st gear isn't exactly graceful. Takes some getting used to.
Engine is better than I thought. At 140 horses...you can't expect much. There is great torque (1800 RPM up decent grade hill in 4th gear no problem). Pretty much all of the aggressive power is found in the higher RPM's. Shes a screamer for sure.
Fuel economy is impressive so far. Still on the first tank. I'll get back to that on a later date.
Great little car. I would recommend one to anyone. It's very youthful. One thing I noticed about the interior is that everything that is brought into the car is always visible. Besides the glove box and upper box, every storage area is open. I'm not quite sure how I feel about that.
I will try to take some pictures when I get the time and throw them on here.
