What was your bluetooth adapter brand?
I have left mine on by accident and it was still fine. Although the bluetooth device was out of range of the sender.
I have a cheap 6 year old ebay obd2 and the torque app as well. The adapters only transmit permissions to reset CEL faults to the cars computer nothing more. The app doesn't allow for anything more than that by default. Unless you have an unofficial version of the app that's trying to send codes to the ecu you shouldn't be expericeing problems from adapter being plugged in. If there was an issue with any obd2 unit sending information like that unchecked then things like the snapshot from progressive and the miriad of over the counter obd2 readers would be off the market.I have a konwei adapter obd2.
And I use a cheap Samsung android phone that I have just for this app.
So I did leave it running in the glove box and completely forgot about it overnight.
The app was still running when I got in the car and noticed it was still on. And that's when I noticed the lights and hard steering.
Imho if this has a possibility of reoccurring, I would rather not use this setup again. I mainly used it for the boost and temp gauges. But. It's not worth the hassle or risk of forgetting again and maybe being worse next time. I'll just use it if in case one of the lights comes up or a code displays.
