missing parts

Hi Everybody
SO I bought another little sonice with 171k kms on it. Looked nice but as I drove it home 8 hours I noticed the temperature would not change. So I ordered a cable... diassembled the trim pieces and removed the glove box and I noticed there is cable is just hanging there. No lobe piece. a zip tie holding it in place to stay hot. Now I need to order some parts and the diagrams are horrible. Can someone tell what is supposed to be there? This the best I can find.

That is the problem I don’t know what is missing. Was hoping someone could take a picture for me. I know I don’t have 53 the white ear lobe looking piece

53 or 52?
The "ear lobe" part is what's labeled as 52.
Sounds like the original may have broken.
If that broke, it could mean a stuck or binding blend door inside the blower housing.
You'll have to make sure that door rotates freely, or you may end up breaking the replacement driven gear (ear lobe).

I turned it by hand and it moved freely but the temp control cable was busted and lying down by the glove box… they cut the ear lobe piece and left the teeth part of it with a zip keeping it stuck on hot… so I replaced the cable now want to put it back together properly… so I’m guessing I need 52 & 53 and the temp cable sits inside the lobe?

52 (ear lobe) definitely, if it was broken or cut. Possibly 53 too.
And yes, the gear on the end of the cable
drives the gear teeth on the lobe, which the drives the small gear on the shaft to the door.
Getting to the screw that holds the cable on there is a tight fit to get at, but it can be done. IIRC, it's a 5.5mm head.
The assembly needs to be "timed" correctly for everything to mesh up and work correctly. Mainly the door and knob on the control panel both need to be in the same position when the cable goes on. Both in the full cold position IIRC.

I bought a 5.5mm ratchet wrench to get in there. That size is kinda hard to find, but I did manage to find a reasonably priced set of them on ebay that had that size in it.

So I replaced the lobe… don’t think I have it clocked right…. Probably have to redo it as now it’s getting warmer and I still have full heat but it won’t go all the way to the cold side. The sonic repair manual is lacking also, it doesn’t even show how to replace the lobe. And now the temp door is binding a bit… never ends with this car
