Looks cheap you say, oh and "plastidipping" every damn trim piece isn't, you guys sure are funny! In fact, I've never seen such one particular vehicle being plastidipped sooooo ****ing much, my car's black and I don't even wanna use it on anything. Don't get me wrong, I hella hate chrome trim, but spraying a black plastic-like coating that can easily peel off isn't exactly nice, especially on a brand new car! I guess since y'all are supporting that company that makes it, they can stay in business thanks to Sonic owners now lmao!
Matte paint has become very popular on cars these days. So much so that there are some manufacturers that offer it from the factory. As for plastidip, it is HARDLY just Sonics that it has caught on with. There's an entire website based on plastidipping car parts or ENTIRE cars. As they say in those old commercials, "the more you know..."
I should clarify that when I said "looks cheap", I meant that it looks...ricer for lack of a better word. As for why I like the idea of plastidip, it's easy to do, it's easy to change if I mess up and/or decide I don't like it which allows me to experiment with looks, and some of the parts of the car SHOULD HAVE BEEN black to begin with. That little area of the rear bumper, for example. Hell, if I remember correctly, the RS has that little area of the rear bumper painted black.
