I have 2 of these cars: 2015 LT Hatch 1.8, and a 2016 LTZ sedan 1.4 turbo. Both automatics.
This message pertains to the 2015 1.8 hatchback motor mount on the passenger side. There is some degree of confusion involved all based on whether the car has a "sport package", that affects (supposedly) the motor mount design.
If you look at the 2 styles of passenger side motor mounts for a 2015 1.8 engine, the mount varies somewhat. VIN "G" or "H" numbers are involved as well. Mine is a H.
The mount numbers stamped on the metal do not match up, and there is also a large round black rubber dongle or balancer for one. The one on the car does not have it, the one I ordered on ebay does. This is the site where I obtained this info:
https://www.stockwiseauto.com/auto-...ne-mount?Year=2015&Make=Chevrolet&Model=Sonic
My question: The mount do not look the same. (round rubber dongle), plus there is a YouTube video about this alerting to the use of correct mounts. There was also a reference to a bolt not matching up or fitting as well.
1: Could this mount I bought with the rubber dongle be used in place of the other one?
2: If not - could the mount be used for the 2016 LTZ 1.4 turbo sedan car?
3: Chevy: WHY complicate matters?
