Hey there,
I’m a 2014 Sonic 1.8L automatic hatchback LT owner. At about 116k miles right now.
I’ve noticed some symptoms that lead me to believe I have at least one bad motor mount:
-excessive vibrations at idle while I’m in reverse or drive
-an occasional clunking sound while driving at slower speeds
-feeling the car move when I put the car into drive, or when the transmission shifts while driving at lower speeds
I was trying to determine which motor mount I ought to replace. I heard the passenger side is common to fail. I want to avoid having to do them all, as it is more expensive and time consuming.
i took some videos of the engine while shifting gears and power braking. It seems to move a couple inches up and down when doing these things, but I’m not sure if this is normal behavior.
I’d appreciate any help in determining the issue.
