Before I explain MPG Tracker, I'll introduce myself. My name is Brian Hynds, I'm a Freelance Web Developer and iOS Application Developer. I've been doing custom DBMS (Database Management Systems) development for the past several years through PHP and MySQL, and I enjoy designing toy projects (like this one) in my spare time. I'm a former Information Systems Analyst in the US Army, and currently an Information Science and Technology graduate and student at The Pennsylvania State University. But enough about me, time to explain what I'm working on ...
I started writing a DMBS today that I'm planning to release as an open-source project. Since the first day I bought my Sonic, I've kept a detailed log about my actual fuel mileage (odometer readings, gallons, cost per gallon, location, etc.). I have all this data on my iPod using an app called Gas Cubby, but I wanted a way to make this data public and allow other users to do the same. So, I wrote a DMBS from scratch that does exactly that.

It's not complete and still under a lot of development, but I thought I would start a thread here on the forums to get your feedback. Particularly, I'm curious to know what you would like to see included in something like this. Keep in mind that because this is a toy project for me, it's something I'll be developing in my spare time and development may seem a little slow. I have other projects I'm working on to pay the bills that take higher priority. And as such, I do not have any expected release date.
