Many european nations help fund AirBus and they really don't compete well against Boeing which is just a private company. Something to keep in mind. When you have infinite money you get sloppy.

I'm curious to see if she is of any help. GM Customer Service reps are all over this forum acting like they can take care of any issue. Just wondering if they actually help anyone.

We will see. I am sure the car will be fixed in Morgantown. I've had decent success with them. The only issue with them is that they ordered a part for me twice and never called when it came in. (Bad weatherstrip.) The weatherstrips are shipped folded up in a box so they are creased all over. I wanted it replaced because it's creased already so they didn't want to put it on.

I got a call from Mark who told me to just take it to the dealer in Morgantown and "see what they say." He has no idea about Pedders COs being a GMPP licensed part and also said "lowering kits void the warranty." He also said that the dealer refused to look at the car due to the scangauge and there is a bulletin about having things plugged in there. I asked him to show me in my user's manual where it says I can't plug anything in there and he cannot.

He is going to call me on Thursday after he checks up on some things.

He was not familiar with the MyLink update either.

Wow these people are very misinformed. I'm sure everything will get sorted out for you in the end. Your UG or SG, whatever you have, is just a display showing engine codes. Like the monitor to your computer. Can a computer monitor disrupt a PC unit? No.

If it malfunctions (hardware) it can cause bus contention and shut everything down. The car would not function very well in that case, however. (Hint: anything on the bus, including all the various pieces of the car, can cause this issue.)

Thought I'd update you all on my trip to Premier Chevrolet in Morgantown.

They don't have the USB flash drive to do the update. They have to get that.

I sat in their waiting room for 2 and 1/2 hours only to go check on the car and find out it had not been touched. Their answer to cruise control is apparently "there is no bulletin for that" and the "service director" had to test drive the car to look at the transmission grinding issue and he wasn't there. So the same dealer who failed to call me when a part I had ordered (warped weather strip, still not fixed!) TWICE (first part was bad and I went in 60 miles round trip to have it replaced, second part sat there a month before I called and was also bad) failed to tell me nobody was going to look at the car. In the meantime my class partner and I were studying for an exam in their waiting room because they failed to notify me. So this is two appointments in one week at two different dealers who did absolutely nothing but waste my time and fuel.

What's next?

BTW, the transmission issue is getting worse. It ground real bad going up a hill from a stop shifting at 3k rpm with about 1/4 throttle.

Got on the interstate at 70 with cruise (and I haven't had the UG plugged in in a long time and it was not in) and by the time I got off 23 miles later I was going 75. I'm starting to wonder if the resume switch is bad. One time when it worked its way to 73 I had to downshift into 5th to go up a hill and when I hit resume it took me up to 75 and kept the setpoint there.

Updates. Premier Chevrolet in Morgantown is upgrading the MyLink today (I'm the first one!) and the service manager spent an hour on a test drive with me. He was able to duplicate the shifting grinding issue and they are going to look into that. I was able to duplicat the cruise issue but he could not. He tried many, many times. We think I am hittingthe switch too hard/too fast which is causing it to stick or possibly have ringing (for you electrical engineers out there.) He never had it happen to him even one time. Therefore I am going to drive the car a while using my "80 year old grandma finger" and see if it behaves better for me.

I'll post back with what happens.

I would rather work on my car myself then to let them monkys at my dealer touch it again

If I didn't have a full time job which includes 6.5-8 hours (depending on traffic) travel time per week and doing 2 PhD courses towards my doctorate in computer science I would totally agree with you! There's also the fact that the cost of my warranty is priced into the car.

Maybe they should have an option where you can pay less for a car if you don't get the warranty. Hmm...
