Need to replace flexpipe/downpipe/front pipe

Hey all, my 2012 sonic just failed inspection for the first time due to a leak in the flex pipe. They told me in at the dealership they would have to replace the catalytic converter even though it is good and it would cost arpund $400. I found through some research that that was a load of bs.

So what im looking for is either a link to a thread or a link to a website that has step by step instructions with pictures or diagrams that are easy to understand.

Also has anyone put on the walker walker front pipe available at advanced auto? I was thinking about getting it to put on.

I'd visit a local exhaust shop and have the flex section cut out and replaced.

I just ordered a 10" long flex pipe from eBay and cut the factory one and welded the nnew one,2 years ago. No problems since

You could also purchase an aftermarket midpipe such as the ZZP midpipe and have an easy, bolt-in replacement for not much money.
