I'm going to be painting my wheels again soon with white Plastidip, and I thought it would be nice to add a layer of NeverWet to them for some awesome water-proofing (especially with the snow season around the corner). I setup a test board today to see how well the Plastidip and the NeverWet worked together, and the results were pretty much as expected ... simply awesome!
Here's a quick video. I'll upload some more when I get around to actually getting the wheels done, along with some pointers in regards to the process. I have an appointment this week for Recall #12172 (sway bar rattle), so I'm going to wait until afterwards to avoid anything happening to the paint.
Edit: For clarity, the purpose of this is to create a superhydrophobic surface on my wheels (not tires), which will help keep them clean and free from ice buildup during the winter. I plan to also line the inside of my wheel wells with just the NeverWet to prevent ice from collecting and clogging up around the mud flaps.
