New Battery

Im looking to upgrade my battery to eather a XSpower Battery or kinetik battery (prefer XSpower).

Well XS says the D4700 will fit but what im worried about is how it will actually connect to the car. I know my sonic has short as hell battery wires and some type of extra fusing on the power wire. Will this battery work or should I look in to a different one they offer? I hate how short the wire is with the fusing on it messes me up to change the battery to any thing any bigger then a group 47... sucks to be a car audio person lol

why do you need that size battery in the sonic... how do you intend to charge it..?

The OEM battery isn't AGM. So the system likely puts out too high a voltage for an AGM battery, and will shorten its life.

Its still a 12v system but you cant charge a big batt with a little alt and we cant get any other options for an alt currently... Ive been looking myself but untill theres a 220 amp offering its not really worth it. Even a 160 would be okay but i doubt these cars have any more than a 100 amp alt and thats probably being optomistic

Singler Alts can make a 200amp alt but it is still PCM controlled. Why I want it, well I run 1200wRMS in my car as of now and have voltage drop. Not to bad (down to 12.5 and down to 12 if I demo for 10min or so strate) but I want to try and help it as much as I can. Car audio man. first thing you should always do is take care of your electrical first over kill is best. And no the alts we have will not have a hard time charging that 1 battery.

The alternator can charge any 12v lead acid battery. There are many machines I work on daily that only have 60amp alternators charging 4D batteries. The amperage of the alternator will effect how fast a dead battery will charge.
