Greetings!

I bought a 2012 Sonic LTZ Turbo Hatch (Inferno Orange) on the 4th of July, and I'm in love with it. Searching the web for Sonic stuff, and I found this forum for Sonic owners - which is awesome! Glad to join the ranks with the rest of you.

Eventually I'll start doing some stuff to it as time and budget permits. Nothing major at first, but I would like to look into the sound system which could use a little more bass.

Been looking at some of the cars on here, some pretty sweet looking Sonic's on this this forum!

Welcome to the forum! There is a wealth of knowledge on here. Also there are a few guys/girls with some pretty serious sound systems just use the search function. Also post some pics when you get the chance.

Thanks! Yeah I've been reading up on some of the sound threads, lots of good stuff. I'm not looking to go to any extremes with it, I'd like to keep the 2012 stock head unit. It's loud enough, just has no bass, I'd like to add a little more. Planning on replacing the stock speakers, see if there's any difference and go from there.

I'll post pics when I get the chance. It's just a stock 2012 LTZ 1.4L, inferno Orange. I'm very happy with the car. I test drove 20 cars before buying it. The Sonic was the first car I looked at, and ended up being my favorite so I went back to it and purchased. Guess it wasn't just me as there's a whole forum of Sonic Lover's here

Improving the house speakers will def. Help but, what will help even more is while you have everything apart to replace the speakers get some dynamat or some other sound mat and lay that on your doors inner panel. (There are tons of youtube videos on how to do that) I'm not a stereo expert but I have read a lot lol. keeping the music in the car and the road noise out is just as important if not more important than upgrading speakers.

GTMAT, check them out, cheaper than dynamat... it cut 3 dB just doin all the doors and hatch at about 70% coverage, I'll be doin the floors when I get some free time
