then "timing belt" not chain? I then started thinking "no wonder why Toyota's 1.8 is legendary. Sorry, I'm not trying to be a trouble maker.

Timing belts are no big deal.

Belts have come along way, the one in the 1.8 should be changed every 100k though.


The 1.8 is generally a robust engine, very little engine problems.
