Tech2 or MDI/GDS for 2012 Sonic

After three alignments and steering angle resets and/or calibrations I still have a hard pull and to avoid the dealer's recommendation of replacing the steering module, column, and shaft for 1400 I figured I may better give it a shot myself (been dealing with this pull for over a year now ever since getting an airbag safety inspection which required the removal of the steering wheel).

So, I'm not sure if the Tech2 works with the 2012 Sonic (steering angle calibration in particular) or if I should go the MDI/GDS route (not even sure if it's possible to run GDS/GDS2 b/c of authorization).

From what I've read MDI does support the 2012 Sonic (https://www.dealerscantool.com/general-motors-dealer-scan-tool).
