After I rolled my 2005 Aveo last year I started looking for a replacement, I liked the ease and cost of replacement parts so I stuck with Chevy. It seemed every car I came across in the classified ads were sold with in minutes of listing, I finally found a Sonic that was listed without pictures and the wrong phone number, I knew the dealership it was listed with and called directly. When I took a bus (200 miles) to pick up the car I discovered it was an 'RS', that was a good thing, the seat was conformable for the drive home, unlike my Aveo which causes backaches after 30 minutes of driving.
One of the first things I did when I got home was check out the spare tire and tools to change the tire, I discovered the wench to remove the lug nuts did not provide me with enough leverage, my 14" cross lug wench nor my 20" cross lug wrench didn't provide the leverage either. I figured someone had over torqued the lug nuts, they were black with acorn shaped caps, one was missing the cap, I took the car in and had the tires rotated figuring they would set the proper torque. I still could not get the lug nuts off and now three of the lug nuts were missing the caps, I checked with a Chevy dealer and found the lug nuts were suppose to be stainless steel at $10 each from the dealer.. I replaced the lug nuts with the factory ones using a borrowed 1/2" torque wrench and added a 20" breaker bar with a 19mm socked to the spare tire tools.
The only issue I have with the car is the entertainment center, how do I disable SiriusXM from screaming at me every time the car starts?
