cruise control also kills mileage, the system will do whatever it takes to keep the same speed, it'll floor the gas if it has to in order to keep the speed.
Once you're vehicle has reached about 5,000 miles which is the vehicle break in period you should start to see an increase in MPG. You can check out fueleconomy.gov for tips and advice on increasing fuel economy.

The timer seems to function as designed in my 2013.
With the timer showing on the display, I hit the button on the end of the stick to change the colon from solid to blinking and the timer started counting. Press it again to stop it and press and hold to reset.

ive ridden with alot of ppl where cruise control does wonders for gas mileage, you know the on the gas off the gas on the gas type people.
I just disable mine on hills to avoid its lose no speed programming, seems to work pretty good.
