New radio install today

Can you link where you go this? I've been looking at best buy but I didn't see one like this though.

Im not sure where I found that...I was just skimming one day and saw it.

Has anyone taken 6.5" woofers and put them in the rear speaker location? Also, any ideas on getting rid of the vibration of the rear view mirror when the music is turned up?

I have done a few sonic rear speaker installs. Went pretty well. We had to grab the wires in the b pillar lower panel. Then run them into the door. Wasnt too bad. Turned out real nice.

Ive heard alot of this mirror rattling deal. I havnt done sube on one yet so when I do ill let you know if theres a fix we can think of.

cleanest i've seen so far! skimmed quick, did you keep away to change vehicle settings and such? I'm sure all is accesbile if need be via scan tool and really most of them are "set it and forget it" anyway.

I believe inm found a screen that you can mount that gives you the adjustments. I havnt seen one in person so I dont want to say for sure.

I found what claims to do it. Unfortunately, I didn't but it, so I'm not 100% sure. The handbook for the dash kit states it will work.

Hmm..Ill have to look into it. Ive driven mine all over Florida and havnt had any issues with vibrations or noise..Possibly a bad mount?..Ill see if I can recreate it and thencome up with a fix.

I haven't noticed it on mine either. We have some bumpy ass roads in my part of town, too.

Best buy carries them, and almost any install place. They're about ten bucks and just change the pin type. I think Wal Mart has a universal one.

There is a space at the top of the glove box so you can run it in there.

Got it all hooked up no problems at all. Door and turn signal chimes are drastically quieter but that didnt matter to me. Love the kit. only thing i want to do is put speakers in the back door. I have a the LS so it doesnt have the 6 speaker system. Is there a post somewhere on here about that?

The Axxess box has a dial where you can adjust the chimes.

Yea its really not that hard to do. Ive done a total of 8 Sonics here at our Best Buy. All came out beautifully. 4 for radios, 2 satillite radios, and 2 for 4 speakers.

The base style radio was terrible. and so is only having the four speakers up front. But with this new Pioneer i just put in it makes a HUGE difference.

In all the Sonics ive worked on, If there is no speaker in the rear door, there are speaker wires ran un the B-Pillar to the door gromet. There is a harness in the gromet connected inside. Your speaker wires run into the harness, but do not come out. You have to drill a hole in the harness, tap into the one side, then run wires through.

If you want to retain the adjustment or "settings" portion of the factory radio, there may be an optional screen you can buy. As for the kit 99-3012g, it does not retain the settings.
