I would say that you probably scored a good deal. I robbed the center caps from my 15's for use in the LTZ wheels I have. I only have the pressure sensors in my stock 15's.

If you are not as worried about economy as you are about a little more fun I would suggest a 225/45/17. My LTZ wheels have 225/45/17 tires on them (need to replace them soon) and the Eco wheels I run in autocross have 225/45/17 as well. I may switch to a 205 on the LTZ wheels as I do not need them for autocross at all.

Thanks a million man, I really appreciate you taking the time to help me. I talked the guy down to 250 and I'm going to pick them up tomorrow, any advice on the best way to transport them in my hatchback

If they are loose wheels bring a blanket to weave between the wheels and you can stand then on edge across the back. Another option is to fold the seats down and if you have the false floor you can lay the wheels flat using the false floor and backs of the rear seats. Once again place a blanket or even cardboard between the wheels and any hard object that might cause damage.


Obviously this is with tires mounted and no blanket needed to cushion the wheels from each other, but as you can see 4 wheels will fit across the back without much issue.

I half expected you to reply with something like; pick up wheels, put in car. But no, you reply with a photo and full description, I really like the way you did it but I think because there are no tires I will just fold down the seats and lay them down flat. Seems like they might move around less. On a side note, your my new best friend.

I have been working on not being an ******* lately.

Laying them flat is probably the best option. Even if they did bump each other a little they shouldnt do any damage. Some cushion isnt a bad idea, but probably not completely needed. Mine were in boxes when I picked them up so I didnt have to worry

Picked up the wheels yesterday, I'm probably a little too excited for some one buying stock rims, but they look 10x better than my 15" in my opinion. Now for the fun part of deciding what tires to go with. $250 is a steal for Eco wheels. With Forged wheels for that much how could you not be excited? XD

You might want to see whether the steering can be limited. The LTZ/RS/Dusk have a larger turning circle than the LS/LT and the distinction comes between 16 inch and 17 inch wheels. Given what goes on the Dusk, I think these tires should fit the arch but if you have the steering cramped all the way it might rub. So I'd want to check into how the steering can be limited to start with; it's about a one-and-three-quarter foot difference in turning circle.

LTZ wheels with 225/45/17 Falken tires do not rub, Eco wheels with 225/45/17 BFG Rival does under hard cornering. That being said the Rival is a bit wider than the Falken. 5mm spacers solved the rub issue.

I have a LT that came with 15" wheels and has the tighter turning circle. I suspect the 16/17" rack would alleviate some of the issue without the need for the spacers.

I have 205/55/16 on the stock 16x6 wheels, I am thinking of either 195/60/16 or 205/60/16 tire sizes. Is it possible to update the tire size in the ECM? The 195s will increase overall tire diameter by .4 inches and the 205s by .8 inches.

I'm currently making some hub spacers for my brothers sonic hatchback. He has stock wheels and I was going to make them 1/4". Its seems the most common size is 3/16, but that seems like it wouldn't do much. What are the most popular sizes?

To avoid confusion these are hub spacers that fit behind the hub, not wheel spacers that fit on the studs.

That wont work at all on the front of a Sonic. It would on the rear but not on the front.

My guess is the main reason for 3/16" is due to thread engagement of the lug nuts and the hub/wheel centering portion of the hub.

Why use wheel spacers instead of buying wheels with the offset to match how you want your tires located on the car? It would ot add any weight to you car and reduce the number parts needed.

Because I already had wheels I liked, which are an inch wider than stock.

It does appear to me there are many more wheel and offset choices now than there were at the end of November 2011.

Read through a mass majority of this thread. I saw someone else ask a similar question to mine and didn't seem to get a verifiable answer.

I am looking at purchasing some used Winter tires for my car. I found a really good deal on some Blizzak tires sized 215/55/17. Will these fit in the wheelwell of the RS? Not planning to drop the car or anything, just need to know if this size is too tall to fit. Not worried about the 215 size.
