Anyone else experience oil leaks with the 1.4t? I noticed this the other day. Oil level is still fine.

A few of us have had this issue, in my case as in most of them the dealer simply tightened the oil pan bolts and issue corrected. I think 1-2 members actually had their pans taken off, scrapped clean and new gasket maker applied and re-installed.

My Sonic developed an oil leak around the oil pan, I noticed when changing my oil that the oil pan had an oily coating. I took it to a dealer near me and they did a great job fixing it, they removed the pan and re-sealed it. I recently changed my oil again and the oil pan is still nice and clean and dry!
Would also like to point out that I believe doing your own maintenance is important for reasons like this, who knows how bad the oil leak would've become had I not known and waited either for spots on my driveway or some tech to eventually let me know.

Well it was located on the pan so I was assuming it was from the gasket

Interesting, I too had a minor oil leak on my 2012 1.4l (@31,000 miles). The local Chevy dealer turned into a week long ordeal. After replacing the front cover, timing chain cover and also a leaking waterpump, I got the vehicle back yesterday. When I left the lot, I noticed the "check engine" light was on. Took it back, 2 hours later was called and told it was fixed. Picked up the car and after getting home saw a puddle of oil underneath it. Opened the hood and saw oil all over the left side of the engine and air filter housing. Took it back this morning, its still being worked on. I'm a very dissappointed Sonic owner...I want to have faith in Chevy and US made products but I'm getting quotes on a trade in for a Honda just in case my dealer can't get this fixed.

I have a 2013 1.4 turbo and havent had any issues with oil so far, or any issue for that matter. Very pleased with the car. Sonicboomer I would not recommend a Honda. My best friends wife bought a 2011 Accord, after 60k they couldnt keep oil in it. It didnt leak out it was burning it. The dealer said this is normal for those motors to burn that much oil.

The original leak was a chevy problem, having issues with getting it fixed right the first time is a dealer problem.

Thanks for the info- still awaiting a call back on the status of my Sonic at the Dealer. Just feeling a little frustrated right now. I'm glad I caught the oil oil leak in my garage and not on the freeway with a "low oil pressure" light.

Possibly related, but I'm not exactly sure what is going on with mine. Mine developed a burning oil smell during our coldest of cold days this winter (sub -15 temps). It would only happen after a cold start when the vehicle had been running for about a minute, then it would start. A couple times I actually saw a faint blue, burning oil cloud in my rearview mirror.
There is no evidence of a leak whenever I park the car, and it hasn't happened since our spring weather has arrived. Any opinions on this issue?
