Orange Rock paint...

Has anyone noticed that the metalic yellow glint in the paint fades after some time? I had my car now for well over 12 months and to me, the orange now looks like the same in the pic for the sites logo in the top left corner, theres no more yellow glint to it when the sun hits the paint like it did when I first got the car.

Was just wondering if its happened to anyone else on the forum?

Yeah, probably just needs some TLC for the paint. Depending on how often you clean and wax, your clear coat may not be in the best shape and is affecting the way light passes through it.

Do that and then use some silicone stuff like Armor All on dark plastics (Black Magic works, but when it wears off, leaves a very dull finish)

But a shined car with enhanced blacks...you'll notice the difference. Once done, go to a gas station...or well lit area...watch the light shine off it...you'll be amazed!

I dont wax the car very often, I think that may be the problem. I went and got it professionally cleaned and waxed, but the car still seems to of lost its yellow glint.

Mine still has the new car look after a wash.
I only use Meguiars products on this car. Ultimate Polish, Wax & washed with Ultimate Wash & Wax. Comes up like new every two weeks.

Keep a coat of wax on it. I need to clean the sonic up, but did a wash and quick wax(Turtle wax as you dry, cheap and good if you are in a hurry). Literally wash, while car is still wet, spray onto a panel as you dry.

For when I really want to make it shine, I like Meguiar's Gold Class. Takes a little while, but comes off easy, and leaves a nice shine. Did our cars, lasted from almost October almost now. Gotta get time to get a full coat of wax on them again before summer hits heavy. But I used to have a 1995 Chevy Beretta, it was Cayenne Red Metallic in color. Looked like a dark burgundy, but when I had a good wax job on the car and the sun would hit it, it looked almost the color of your car. I still miss that car sometimes.
