Overheat light coming on

You'll find the motor regularly hits 225F (at least that's with the 1.4L). That is by default to improve engine efficiency. My old Toyota never got above 205F.

Well I have the 1.8 and that thing always runs hot. Sometimes I can smell it.

So I swapped relays and the fan (assuming the radiator) didn't move. How would I go about getting it to move or run. I let it run, swapped heat and ac and nothing it just sat there. Now that I think of it , I don't ever remember seeing it move or heard it ever.

I took the closest relay I could find (happen to be a 5 prong Bosch, note: if you use a 5 prong, break off the center prong) removed the cap and manually closed the circuit. This confirmed to me that the fan was working just not getting the signal to turn on.

What I assumed was fixed was indeed not. Overheat light on again with smoke pouring out of the front grill. This vehicle is slowly heading towards lemon status.

Going to try to get it in this coming Saturday and see what they say. This game has been going on for quite some time now. At least they replaced the thermostat the last time.

So got my car back on Saturday. Had it in for the recall. And complained about the overheating again. Guess what...told the fan was bad. Let the car run today since it was hot..popped the hood and viola...the fan was running for the first time ever.
