Overheated now it won't start

I have a 2012 LTZ 1.4t that was leaking from the thermostat housing. Turns out that part of the housing around the gasket was melted. So I replaced it with an aftermarket unit from O'Reilly. After reconnecting everything I noticed it was leaking slightly from where the hose connects on to the end of the housing. So I took it all apart and reconnected everything. It's still leak from the housing where the hose was connected. The leak didn't seem to major and I had to go pick up my daughter. So driving to pick up my daughter the car started to chug. I had no overheat light come on at all. So I pulled over and the engine was steaming. I shut the car off to let it cool off and walked into the convenience store to buy some antifreeze. After letting the car sit for a little bit and cool off I added new antifreeze. I've then attempted to start the car but it wouldn't start. It turns over sounds a bit strange when it turns over but will not start. There is no antifreeze or coolant in the oil. Does anybody have any idea what is going on?

Hopefully it's ok, from what you described I think the next thing would be a compression test unfortunately.

Yikes, pull the spark plugs make sure theres no coolant in the chambers before attempting to crank it. 2nd the compression test

So I finally got time to do some investigating yesterday and my number one cylinder is full of oil. ��

Hmm, disconnect ignition, compression test to see if the rings aren't seating or if there's a piston issue. Pull the upper cam cover/valve cover plastic thing and look for anything suspicious above the valves. Pull the charge tube ... anywhere after the turbo*... and see if there's excessive oil accumulation from a leaky turbo seal. Check the intake manifold for the little orange poppet/valve to see if there's a giant boost leak into the bottom end.

I'm leaning toward blown turbo being the most common issue post-2011 1.4's. Especially if you were having coolant issue and the turbo bearings got too hot. Who knows, could be something different, let us know what you find.

Did you pull any codes before the thermostat housing replacement? Was there a misfire?

I wasn't throwing any codes before before replacing the housing. The CEL did come on just before all hell broke lose. I'll pull the valve cover when I get out of work.

Are you able to pull that code from an obdII reader?

Does it look like oil has been spraying from the cam cover rupture disk?

Use a flashlight to check for the orange poppet in the pcv line from the intake manifold, is it there? Check the outlet side of the pcv line where it connects to the turbo air inlet too, excessive oil?

& def see if theres a lot of oil in the charge tube/throttle body yay or nay?

Charge tube is clean and the pcv and cover are good. I had the valve cover replaced less than a year ago due to a bad pcv. I have friend stopping by later with a scanner to pull the codes.
