Good morning ya'll,
I'm in a 2019 Sonic RS Hatch, with a few ZZP parts installed already (CAI, coil pack, catback 2.5" exhaust, few minor things otherwise).
I wanted to get ahead of the looming PCV failure and engine death, so I got the ZZP PCV bypass kit, and I installed it this weekend.
AT THE SAME TIME, I installed their wastegate actuator on my turbo assembly, since I was in there.
I followed instructions completely, backtracked several times from my own idiocy, but got it done and correctly installed.
Car started and even runs fine, but I threw two codes this morning.
P0234 is the Turbo overboost, I know that's a thing, I'm ordering a tune asap.
Second was a P0171, Engine lean mix code.
This one's got me intrigued, because a wastegate actuator swap should not cause that, and I know the PCV bypass doesn't alter that either.
BUT the one thing I didn't like during reassembly was when I went to put the fuel rail back on, I got the feeling the injectors didn't seat properly, like a "snap in" feeling as a slid them home, though they seated far enough to allow me to bolt the rail back on with no forcing or pressure at the screws.
Anyone got a clue?
I can always uninstall the wastegate actuator, that's actually pretty easy, to see if it all clears, but haven't had time yet.
Thanks,
JOSH
