Passenger seat folds down?

I saw an image where the front passenger seat can tilt all the way forward so the headrest tucks into the foot well and the back is nearly flat.

I can't seem to get it to do this.

Maybe it's a 2016 thing or a Canadian option. The headrest look a bit different too on the rear seats.

Sad I can't fold my seat forward. I'm thinking it's because my seats are heated?

Well I can confirm is not an option for a 2016 Canadian rs sonic .the side bolsters on the seat prevent you from folding the seat like in the pic . Gm you can make up for this by sending me another $250 lol

The photo that depicts the passenger seat folding forward is captioned "collector" - Apparently the collector option wasn't implemented for production vehicles!

Turns out it was because I tried to view the link with the browser in mobile mode. That image isn't available on the mobile site.

Beginning to suspect the "collector" is too close to the "hoarder" so they didn't want to encourage that type of behaviour.

2017 Sonic

It's got to be a 2017 (or some other countries model) because the spot where the speedo and tach is, isn't the same as our older Sonic's. We have that "motorcycle" looking set-up. The instrument cluster pod in the picture has a different look.

Funny, my previous car was a 2007 Saturn Ion Redline and the front passenger seat folded down flat just like that picture. You would think that GM would continue to offer a feature that worked in the past, not discontinue it.

I wonder how hard it would be to modify the seat bracket to allow it. That or swap seats with a 2017.

Some cousins to our Sonic, such as the Chevy Trax do that. I wonder if the seats from a Trax would bolt in? The ability to fold flat like that looks like it's because of how the seat back is hinged higher up, not the rails or anything you could modify.

not sure about airbag integration.... that could be tricky

they integrate with the other airbags I'd think.
