Please help with this weather stripping!

So only problem I have now is my weather stripping with this wind noise.. I had about 120 miles till my bumper to bumper exspired so I took ot in and they took my car out for a ride and came back amd wrote it off saying they cant re create it and I got mad and told him to get into the car and ill drive.. and when I took off right away u can hear wind.. and he said yes I hear it now. So 3 days later I dropped my car off and they gave me... omg.. a 2004 Chevy cavalier. . For a rental.. at first I was like omg but then I was like it will be just 3 days max.. but no they had my car for 11 days. I told them I had wind noise in my 2 front doors.. so I called everyday because they never called to update me on it so I had to call everyday. Well after 11 days they called and said were done. So I went there and I drove that 2004 chevy on fumes.. was not about to put gas in it.. well he tells me that they replaced the driver side stripping and that they fiddled with the passenger side and got them both to stop with the wind noise.. so I was happy.. started to drive off and heard wind right away.. I said F that and just kept driving.. because they didint do crap and they are not keeping my car another 11 days.. and the more I listen the more it sounds like the wind noise is worse. . Well now my bumper to bumper is exspired and is there ANYTHING I can do to fix this? Like anything I can buy.. if I listen to music I dont hear it but once in awhile I like to just sit in quiet when I drive but cant when it sounds like my windows are down.

Yet one more reason why I will never buy another Chevrolet.
Sorry I'm not sure how to fix your problem but that is frustrating.

They would have made a repair order on the vehicle. The warranty repair would show up on Dealerworld (GM's website) so the complaint would be available for other dealers to see, along with the date of the repair. This happened before the warranty was up, so if you go to another dealer and explain what happened, the records would be available to back up your story. Try another dealer.

IMO, your fault for waiting so long to get the situation fixed. I'm betting the 'wind noise' existed well before you had 35,880 miles on the car. Why'd you wait until the last minute to get it fixed?

I've heard, haven't tried, that if you put the windows all the way down open the door and put your knee on the arm rest and pull the top of the frame to you gently as to not bend too far. This will make the stripping tighter to the body and no more wind noise.

I have also heard that when it rains and the seals are wet the sound will stop too because water filling the gap so wind can not make noise.

Because I took my car in over 6 times for that problem to 3 different dealers and they bring it back saying they cant re create the noise.. I have over 6 pieces of paper saying they couldn't re create it

Honestly, it's not the weather stripping; your doors are out of alignment. Given what your car has been through, it's not surprising. A good body shop should be able to properly align them for you at minimal cost. I know you expect GM to honor their warranty, but they clearly aren't capable of making good on it, if it's that bothersome taking it somewhere else will likely be your best route to get it fixed.

I've done the door bend on the knee thing; on my 12 year old, 185,000 mile Honda. It works, but I'd rather get the alignment right on a new car.

Why does everyone think my car is a piece of crap.. okay.. here is what happen.. GM took my car up to MI to the assembly plant and took my car apart and inspected the body and every part and rebuilt it and replaced over $5000 worth of parts that looked old or used only because they said if I paid for a new car im getting one.. everything on my car is perfect except my transmission. . My brothers sonic has wind noise and when they took my car I drove a Sonic RS that had OnStar all on the outside of it and it had wind noise also. Its not that my car has went thut alot. And I got the police report when I went to court.. all it was is an 60 year old woman hit a conceret pole that was 5 inches tall it messed up the bumper and busted the transmission and the insurance just totaled out the sonic. . So no my sonic has not been thru alot.

Sorry, I wasn't trying to be offensive. This is still an abnormal amount of disassembly reassembly for any car.

Here is something you can try, roll down your window all the way then close a piece of paper in the door frame so you can slide it around. If the door is properly aligned with the body making a proper seal the paper should not move, or at least not much. If the door is out of alignment the paper will likely fall out. You can try this in different places around the door too, as the alignment is along more than one axis, so it may be sealed at the top but not along the side. The weather striping itself cannot be adjusted, as long as it is not torn or missing it's fine; the doors relationship to the opening of the body is what allows the seal to work right, or not. Well that wreck didint mess up my body.. they scanned the whole body and it maches up as what they send out new. I have papers of what all they did and they tested everything and everything passed when my car left the factory. I even had a chevy dealer say its just weather stripping. They had a few sonics come in for the weather stripping. Its in that same spot next to your ear where everyone has the wind leak. Not because u think my car is messed up

I'm not trying to pick on you or your car, and if you know what the problem is I don't know what help you were expecting.

I'm sorry your door leaks, and I hope you get it fixed.

Well saying my car is the problem and not the weather stripping acting like you know everything about my car. If I knew it was not the weather stipping and it was my car I would not be here but you keep trying to point it out saying its my car alignment when its not. I just posted to see if anyone rigged it up or applied something to there weather stripping to stop the noise.

I've also had this same issue, but figured it was just the car, and ignore it. Sometimes it sounds like my window is cracked, and drives me bonkers. If anyone comes up with a fix, I'd also be interested.

I don't feel any air, and there is no water leakage. Just sound.

Yeah I try to ignore it too with loud music.. that works lol bur I remember alond time ago there was a spray that my dealer used on my old car and he sprayed in on the stripping and that quit the wind noise but when I ask my ones here they have no idea what it is. Lol guess im out of luck
