Porting the Intake Manifold

I think porting the intake helped a bit in the higher rpm range.. my opinion though

was it you that did it without ECP?

Ha yes that was me. First to port a sonic intake lol and it ran like garbage. Couldnt drive it. Had to get tune redone then it was fine. But from talking to jerry I think if you have a current tune with the Ecp it will be fine when you port the intake. I guess if the car was bone stock and you ported it the ECM could compensate to run smooth but it would also detune itself so there wouldn't be a power gain until the tune but most of you know that much

You probably do not have the ECP tune update that fixes the BNR/Forge BOV cold start issues. It will start and run fine after the cold start is done.

After 5K RPM it is a noticable improvement, even on an otherwise stock sonic

I make power all the way up to the rev limiter.
Never hit the limiter before I ported the intake.

Hearing the rev limiter makes me think I'm in "The Fast & Furious", I don't like that :/

FWIW there is little to no decrease in low RPM drivability or gas mileage with this mod

Yeah the rev limit is not a pleasant feeling.

At some point, I'm gonna do a valve job, stiffer springs, and have that limiter bumped to 7k......... at some point.opcorn:
