Hey everyone! I'm currently driving a 2008 Cobalt and I'm currently looking at 2017 Sonic Hatchback LT RS in Krypton Green! Anything I need to know before hand about this particular year and trim?

1.4 or 1.8? How many miles on the dragon?

Not sure about the hatch. I've had both sedan and hatch. Sedans get better MPG and are actually longer when parked right next to each other.

LT or RS
all RS's are 1.4t if I'm not mistaken. LT's can have either 1.4t or 1.8?

I had literally both.... RS currently, the LT i traded it in for had the 1.8 (I still miss the sound difference).... I say do it if it's low miles.... not sure how quick I'd be down to jump on one over 100k though unless it was already "improved".... I'm sure a 2017 can be at too bad a mileage right now....

I've loved both if mine.... 100% glad I went with the RS though.... both manual transmissions.... so a lot of my only complaints come from how strange they can behave when shifting.... also how it seems that the transmissions can go pretty early

We have a 2017 1.8L LT with "RS" designation on the grill . .. +13K miles and a daily driver. All good so far except changed out the terrible Hankook tires the first week of owning it.

In 2017 .. . the refresh year for Sonic. . . "RS" was mainly a cosmetic exterior/interior treatment with the RS labeled flat bottom steering wheel (hatchback only), Red stitched seats and carpet mats plus a few other things.
Our 2017 is an LT, but has the RS design bits all over it. Of course, not any engine or suspension bits like in previous "RS" trim levels.

So for +2017 the "RS" may or may not be a true "RS".

It only has 17,000 miles. I'm gonna see it on Friday. It's a 2 hour drive to see it.

The 2017 is the same as the 2020, also has the improved design 1.4T.
Great running and riding cars.

Edit: I was thinking of the gen 2 1.4T with GDI, the Sonic uses the same 1.4 from 2011 with SFI.
