Just the one for the driver's window. Kind of a cheap move by GM, but at least the switches are located properly.

Ferdie, are you sure you didn't black it out?!
Maybe European models don't have the switch with a light? Hard to imagine it would stop working so soon.
Very handy at night when I have to enter my underground parking and stop to activate the garage door. Love the express feature, although it is probably very common. My 09 Aveo didn't have express though.

i've call the dad of my girl he has it to no lights!!
day 2 that i had the sonic i saw it allready.. new car but now lights in the buttons!
also the traction control button in the middel of the console has no lights :sadbanana:

Why not? I think it would be nice to have them all lit. I'm sure they take a Neo-Wedge bulb, and if all I gotta do is pop some bulbs in it would be an easy upgrade.

Very true I would be interested in this upgrade. Does anybody know how to remove the cover holding the switches to the door?

My only complaint about the switches is that their operation feels unintuitive to me. I keep trying to pull the switch back to lower the windows and push forwards to raise them. But it's the other way around.
It's a mental block from years of driving a car where forward is up and back is down. I need to think to push the forward edge of the switch down for down and pull it up for up.

Some backlit Cruze switches I've taken apart are lit by a surface mount LED. Looking at some switches which are common in both the Sonic and Cruze, not back lit in the Sonic but is in the Cruze, you would at least need to have good enough soldering skills to solder surface mount components.
The best bet would be to get a window switch assembly from a Cruze where all of them are back lit and see if that will work in the Sonic. Physically it would fit, I'm just not sure if it's a plug and play affair electrically speaking.

I find the express window in the Sonic annoying. I frequently want the window down just an inch and a half, to the lower edge of my fancy rain protectors, and while that is easy with the other three windows, it is a pain with the express, which doesn't seem to click in and out of function with any consistency.
I drove a rental Focus a couple months ago, and all four windows were Express, but the express worked much more coherently; touch the window button and it starts moving in the direction you specified (up or down) touch it a second time and it stops regardless of whether that second touch was up or down.
I would love to either install the Focus system, (preferably on all four, but at any rate on the driver's window,) or to get the driver's window to just act like the other four, and to heck with the Express function, I don't like it as much as I hate it.
