I'm a lil nervous about the ZZP pipe in conduction with the stock sloppy motor mount though. The motor moves around a ton with the stock mount. I mean a ton. I can feel it in lower gears more than I'd like to.

The ZZP is only supported at the v-clamp, and I can picture it fatiguing and breaking in the longterm. I believe that happened to Eric once upon a time.

it did. at the flange where the v band clamps on, it sheared right off.

They make SMOG legal headers cost waaaay too much because they have to have those air injection rails.

Who wants to install headers that have that junk? That's why I never got around to putting headers on my 84 z/28.

Pulled all the smog stuff off my vette as soon as it passed smog. Threw it all in a box in the garage.

Well then that's the first order of biz. Remove the rails, and plug the holes. They sell plugs for that exact purpose. And remove the smog pump if it hasn't already been removed. Might even help with mpg because that's one less pulley for the crank to turn.

Take off the stupid EVAP canister and just put a breather filter in the valve cover. But leave the PCV valve. It should be piped right to the carb's base.

It looks as though the AIR system was removed a while ago. There are plugs in the head by the ports and i didnt see an AIR pump.

As far as power for the 305, there is a lot of cheap stuff you can do to the 4-bbl Q-jet to get WOT power. Aside from that, it'll take cams and head work to make any noticeable gains, and honestly I'd hold off on that. It's a work mule, and should be treated thusly.

It's an Olds 307. It's basically an invincible workhorse. hahaha. I'm not 100%, but I'm fairly certain that it has absolutely no smog equipment on it.

If the 305 has l69 heads you can get a good bit of power out of them. They flow really good

It's a 307, likely with #6 heads.

The EGR valve is still there, but I dont know if it works or not.

Don't build the 307 too much. It's lightweight and you'll get your front end off the ground just trying to move forward in the drive thru

Edit: nvm, was thinking of a different motor

With my current suspension, I already get the front end up like a bucking bronco when I'm in the drive through.

You know, I have a 4 bolt 350 with a 400 crank turned down to fit 350 journals and some vortec heads that are SCREAMING for a new home...
