problems with voice recognition on mylink

I have the "my link" and notice that my voice recognition works maybe 50% of the time.I push and hold the "talk" button then see the "talk" icon pop up on the mylink but most times I don't get the tone that lets you know to speak. I tried holding the button longer.Sometimes it works,sometimes not.This is for trying to make calls. I have heard some people on here say that the mylink does not have voice recognition but I used mine to make calls from my phone book many times its just a crap shot when it will work.Anybody else with mylink have this problem?
