RAW Charge Pipe Review

Just got done installing my ZZP intercooler and RAW charge pipes. Total time from the time I popped the hood to the time I closed it: 3.5 hours. Timeline break down, 40 minutes to remove/reinstall screws that hold the bumper on, 2 hours of removing factory intercooler/charge pipes and installing ZZP's/RAW's, and 50-ish minutes of cursing, tool hunting and cigarette smoking.

Went for a drive, brake boosting is much more effective, better low end power, and can hear the air flow a lot better.


However there was a downside to using the ZZP intercooler and RAW charge pipes together: bumper wouldn't go back onwithout removing the fog lights for now until I can figure out where to trim them to make them fit.

As far as the quality of the products, both are top notch and look amazing. They do the job they are intended to do very well in my opinion.

overall, I'm completely satisfied with the product. Currently working on a solution for the gaping holes in my bumper lol. I'll no longer have fog lights, but have a pretty good idea as to what I'm gonna do :banana:

I'm actually happy that you pointed out the zzp core not allowing the charge tubes to fit with the fog lights. If I were to go this route personally, I'd reroute the fog lights behind the upper portion of the grill and talk the open spaces where the original housing is and have one blocked off and take the passenger side and get a fine mesh and make that side used for ram air ducting for the intake. But that's just me.

Great write up! Glad you like the kit. It looks like the ZZP HE sits more forward which would cause interference between the pipes and the fog lights. One potential solution could be to cut the U-sections back and put longer couplers which will give you more play or see if you can find couplers with a slight angle. Just make sure they are rated for boosted application.

to me it seemed to be due to the intercooler being more forward, and the in/outlets on zzp's intercooler sticking further out to the sides than the factory intercooler. i held the factory intercooler up to the zzp after the install, and could tell just by looking that fitment would be much better with the factory intercooler.

I'm working on a solution for it, can't remember if i said it in my initial post or not, by solution will lose the fog lights from the factory mounting position, and my solution will be for looks alone, but I'm thinking of mounting some smaller circular fogs in custom location, just haven't got that far with it yet lol

i haven't dyno'd, but im still on the stock tune so right now there's probably no gains due to the torque management, but i'll be getting HP tuned in february or march

Honestly can't wait till mine show up on the front porch for testing. I've been putting off installing the new valve cover just for this reason.
