Remote start

My remote start stopped working. I push the door lock button then push the start button and the lights flash and the horn blows 2 or 3 times then nothing. If I repeat the process right away the horn goes into alarm mode ( continuous honking). Anyone had the same problem?

no i havent had that issue but i have been having my car randomly unlocking itself because of the keyfob faulting out for some reason. I am currently working with the dealership to get this issue of mine figured out. For the past week i have had my KeyFob Disabled by pulling the internal battery from it thus making it where the only way to unlock and lock the car is with the key itself. Since i have done that i have had zero unlockings on its own thus signaling that the keyfob itself is at fault. Might want to have that keyfob checked out. either a bad battery in it or some faulty signals being sent out from it. interferience from something possibly. just a guess.

Sounds like your hitting the "alarm/alert" button after locking the car. My car honks 3 times and flashes lights when I hit that button.

Well I hate to admit how dumb I am but that was the trouble, I was pushing the wrong button for start. In my defense my daughter has had the car most of the time since I got it last fall. Thank you for smartening me up.

Haha no problem. I was just reading it and it kinda clicked what you were doing. I had to show my sister how to use the remote start on hers. She had no idea it even had it haha
